A challenging and exciting locum tenens opportunity is available for a Neurological Surgeon at a high-acuity hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. The facility is seeking a skilled surgeon to provide call coverage and address urgent and emergent cases within a Level 1 trauma setting. The role requires a commitment to 24-hour call, one week per month, ensuring critical care for adult and geriatric patients.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide neurosurgical care for emergent trauma cases
  • Perform neurosurgery procedures including brain bleed stoppage, clot removal, tumor removal, trauma repair, and shunt procedures
  • Conduct spine surgery procedures such as spine stabilization, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, spinal fusion, laminectomy, and diskectomy

Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Neurosurgery
  • Active OH License
  • Availability for March dates required
  • BLS, ACLS certifications required
  • Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation
  • Expertise in handling high-acuity neurosurgical cases
  • Skillful in both cranial and spine procedures
  • Proficient in using EPIC EMR system
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities in trauma situations
