Job Description:

Under general supervision, the Network Systems Administrator I install, configures, and maintains Motion's (LANs), (WANs), data communication networks, operating systems, and servers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Defines, designs, and implements network communications and solution improvements to problems of moderate scope
  • Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system with some discretion and judgment
  • Manages the load configuration of a central data communication processor and makes recommendations for the purchase or upgrade of data networks under limited supervision
  • Coordinates terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing with some guidance
  • Approves action requests and specifies purchase requirement
  • Negotiates and places orders with common carriers
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience or equivalent experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of appropriate networks, products, systems, and design
  • Knowledge of job associated database/software/documentation/programming languages
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to Change Management processes
  • Ability to interface well with vendors, customers, end users, partners, and associates
