Job Responsibility:
Staging Juniper access points and switches
Performing inventory and wiping data from Cisco gear returned from sites
Testing defective equipment and processing RMAs
Performing network closet inventory and creating/updating reports
Supporting network device configuration as needed
Responsible for overall support and implementation of LAN and WAN data communications networks, including network access security systems
30% – Network Implementation: Install, configure, and manage LAN/WAN environments
Support remote connectivity and DNS management
Recommend technical solutions
Interface with vendors
Provide documentation and perform physical installations
25% – Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network issues
Utilize troubleshooting tools to minimize downtime
Perform root cause analysis and make sound decisions
15% – Network Documentation: Update and create network diagrams and documentation
Assist in network planning, engineering, and architecture
Support development of technical standards
10% – Network Performance: Monitor network health and capacity
Recommend improvements to optimize performance
10% – Remote Access: Manage NetScreen and VPN solutions
Support secure remote connectivity
10% – ITIL Processes: Assist in development and deployment of ITIL-based processes

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
Field of Study: Computer Science
1 to 3 years of experience
Knowledge typically acquired through a degree in Computer Networking, Computer Information Science, or equivalent experience
Experience with: TCP/IP protocols
Subnet masking
OSI model
Related protocols and applications
Experience with link-state routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.)
Knowledge of: VLAN technology
Spanning tree
Speed and duplex settings
Troubleshooting techniques: Ping
Traceroute
Diagnostics methodology
2–3 years of experience managing a sizable network, including routers and switches
Nice to have:
Network administration / engineering experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Network certifications a plus (JNCIA / JNCIS)
Experience with: TCP/IP protocols and subnetting
OSI model and related applications
Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
Configuring and managing routers
VLAN technology and network performance settings
