The Network Specialist is a member of a multi-discipline team and reports to the Manager of Cyber Security and Network Operations. The Network Specialist supports, and may lead when appropriate, tasks associated with the design, build, implementation and administration of networks. This includes analyzing and monitoring network performance, providing network support, troubleshooting network related issues through resolution, performing system maintenance tasks, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections. This includes installing, upgrading, and maintaining network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, wireless, and other network devices in accordance with established standards. The Network Specialist works with various IT and business departments, regarding the integration, maintenance, network services issue resolution, maintains relevant documentation, and procurement requirements as directed.
Job Responsibility
Supports, and may lead when appropriate, tasks associated with the planning implementation, improvement, modification, and replacement of network infrastructure components
Works with IT management, project manager, IT Team Lead and/or business leaders to implement network activities within timeframes defined
Conducts research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
Monitors and analyzes network performance across the organization’s LANs, WANs, and wireless networks
Supports, and may lead when appropriate, tasks associated with the stable operation and efficient performance of networks
Identifies, recommends, and remedies network performance issues as instructed
Installs and configures network equipment, including but not limited to firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, cabling, and UPSs
Actively monitors systems and networks for potential intrusions using established tools and notifies IT Management immediately of any breaches or concerns
Supports and maintains security risk assessments, identifies and notifies IT management of security vulnerabilities recommends security controls, documents findings and implements remediation plans
Enforces all CHC and IT security policies, standards & practices
Participates in incident response plans to detect, respond and recover from security incidents
Monitors and analyzes network performance including capacity planning to identify, recommend and remedy current and future performance bottlenecks
Excellent written / oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to present complex network and security issues to a variety of audiences

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, information security or related field and/or 7+ years equivalent work experience
One or more of the following certifications preferred: Cisco CCNA
CompTIA Security +
GIAC Certification
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Security
Preferred Experience with the following technologies: CounterAct
