Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Network Port Mapping Analyst to support our infrastructure project team. This individual will be responsible for auditing, documenting, and verifying the configuration of network devices and their connected end devices, ensuring compliance with the Port Schedule documentation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review and interpret Port Schedule documents to understand expected network configurations
  • Document which end-user devices are connected to specific network device interfaces (switch ports)
  • Record configured VLANs on network device interfaces
  • Verify that end devices are physically connected to the correct switch ports per the Port Schedule
  • Ensure network device interfaces have the correct VLAN assignments in line with the Port Schedule
  • When required, verify IP addresses and subnet masks on connected end devices
  • Identify and report any misconfigurations, discrepancies, or anomalies to the Project Manager

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (e.g., VLANs, subnets, switch interfaces)
  • Experience reading network documentation or port schedules
  • Ability to navigate and review switch configurations (Cisco or similar platforms preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience with network management tools or CLI-based switch inspection
  • Basic knowledge of IP address management and subnetting
  • Experience working in enterprise IT environments or infrastructure projects
