Job Description:

We are looking for a Network L1 – Data Engineer to provide first-level support for enterprise data network operations. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving basic network issues related to LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and connectivity, while ensuring high availability and adherence to SLAs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Monitor network performance and availability using NMS tools and dashboards
  • Provide Level 1 support for data network incidents related to LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, and network links
  • Handle incidents, service requests, and alerts as per defined SOPs and SLAs
  • Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams with proper documentation and initial analysis
  • Support network changes, patching, and maintenance activities during business and non-business hours
  • Maintain incident records, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in ticketing tools
  • Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and internal teams for link and hardware issues
  • Follow security, compliance, and operational best practices

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, DHCP
  • Knowledge of routing and switching concepts (VLANs, STP, static routing)
  • Familiarity with Cisco / Juniper / HP network devices (basic level)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with incident and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.)
