We are seeking an experienced Contract Network Engineer to support our client's infrastructure team on a 4-6 month engagement. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise with enterprise firewall, load balancing, and routing/switching technologies, and can hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time.
Job Responsibility
Design, configure, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls, including security policies, NAT, VPN, and threat prevention profiles
Manage and optimize F5 load balancers (LTM/GTM), including virtual servers, pools, and SSL offloading
Configure and maintain Cisco routing and switching infrastructure (routers, switches, VLANs, BGP/OSPF, STP, QoS)
Collaborate with internal teams to document network changes and maintain up-to-date network diagrams
Identify and resolve network performance issues and security gaps
Follow change management procedures and participate in after-hours maintenance windows as needed
Travel to local datacenter on occasion
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise datacenter environments
Demonstrated proficiency with Palo Alto firewalls (Panorama experience a plus)
Solid experience with F5 BIG-IP load balancers (LTM required
GTM/APM a plus)
Strong Cisco routing and switching skills (IOS/IOS-XE
CCNP-level or equivalent experience preferred)
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have
Relevant certifications: PCNSE, F5 201/301, CCNP Enterprise or equivalent
Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.)
Familiarity with SD-WAN or Zero Trust architectures
