Carex is partnering with a Finance/Insurance industry partner to find a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join a high-performing IT Infrastructure team. This role will be responsible for supporting and enhancing a complex enterprise network across corporate offices, branch locations, and data centers. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and SD-WAN technologies, along with a collaborative mindset and a drive to contribute to hybrid cloud network initiatives.
Job Responsibility
Design, implement, and support robust LAN/WAN, wireless, and SD-WAN solutions using Cisco enterprise technologies
Manage and troubleshoot Layer 2/3 networks, including VLANs, ACLs, QoS, and routing protocols such as EIGRP and BGP
Deploy and support Cisco wireless LAN controllers (WLCs) and access points across distributed environments
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for network issues, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term stability
Collaborate closely with security, infrastructure, and cloud teams to drive project-based network solutions
Monitor and optimize network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco DNA, or similar platforms
Maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs, processes, configurations, and diagrams
Support change management procedures and ensure adherence to operational and security standards
Contribute to Azure networking efforts, including vNets, NSGs, VPN Gateway, and ExpressRoute as part of hybrid cloud expansion
Requirements
5–15 years of experience in enterprise network engineering roles
Strong expertise in Cisco routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure
Practical experience with SD-WAN platforms and deployment
In-depth understanding of EIGRP, BGP, and Layer 2/3 network protocols
Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
Solid foundation in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPNs, and general firewall principles
Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Azure networking components
Preferred: Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to thorough documentation
Ability to thrive in both independent and team-driven environments, with a willingness to adapt in a fast-paced setting
Nice to have
Experience with Microsoft Azure networking components
