We are looking for a Network Engineer to support the design, deployment, and ongoing reliability of enterprise network environments in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This position focuses on building stable, secure connectivity across core infrastructure while improving performance and resolving complex technical issues. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with network hardware, security platforms, and routing technologies, along with the ability to work effectively with internal IT teams and external partners.
Job Responsibility:
Architect, install, and sustain network infrastructure to ensure dependable connectivity across business operations
Monitor network health, analyze performance issues, and implement improvements that strengthen speed, stability, and availability
Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN solutions to support secure and efficient communications
Diagnose network outages and technical faults, then drive timely resolution to minimize disruption for users and systems
Apply firmware updates, hardware changes, and infrastructure enhancements to maintain current and resilient environments
Maintain clear and accurate network diagrams, configuration records, and operational documentation
Provide technical assistance to end users and internal teams on network-related incidents and service requests
Coordinate with vendors and cross-functional IT staff to troubleshoot issues and execute infrastructure upgrades
Requirements:
Strong understanding of core networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP and dynamic routing such as BGP
Hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment, including routers and switching technologies
Practical knowledge of firewall administration using platforms such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, or Fortinet
Ability to work with network cabling and related hardware components in enterprise environments
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related field
Industry certification such as CCNA or other relevant networking credentials is preferred
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and support secure, high-performing infrastructure
