Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Network Engineer to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (US-PA), United States (US). We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer (8+ years) to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and support of complex enterprise and cloud network environments. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to guide junior engineers while partnering with cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibility:

Architect, design, and implement enterprise-scale LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and VPN solutions
Lead network modernization, migration, and transformation initiatives
Configure, manage, and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
Provide L3/L4 support for complex network and performance issues
Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of network infrastructure
Drive network security design including firewalls, IDS/IPS, Zero Trust, and segmentation
Support and integrate cloud and hybrid networks (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Perform capacity planning, traffic analysis, and performance tuning
Automate network operations using scripting and infrastructure-as-code
Lead incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and problem management
Create and maintain network architecture diagrams, standards, and documentation
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
Collaborate with security, cloud, application, and infrastructure teams
Engage with vendors and service providers for design and issue resolution

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
8+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering and operations
5+ years of expert-level knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, STP, QoS
5+ years of extensive experience with enterprise networking platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Arista)
3 to 5 years of strong firewall and security experience (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco Firepower)
3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with SD-WAN solutions
Proven troubleshooting skills in complex, multi-vendor environments
Experience with network monitoring and observability tools (SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, Wireshark)
Strong understanding of network security and compliance best practices

Nice to have:

CCNP / CCIE / JNCIP / JNCIE or equivalent
Cloud networking expertise (AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, Azure VNets, ExpressRoute)
Network automation experience (Python, Ansible, Terraform)
Experience in large enterprise or managed services environments
ITIL processes and incident/problem/change management experience
