We are looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this Contract position, you will play a critical role in designing, managing, and optimizing network and telecommunications systems across a robust manufacturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in network architecture, security, and troubleshooting while contributing to the reliability and efficiency of enterprise-wide IT operations.
Job Responsibility:
Design, implement, and manage secure and reliable network and telecommunications systems to support business and manufacturing operations
Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components, including switches, routers, and firewalls
Monitor network performance to ensure high availability and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime
Lead efforts to evaluate, deploy, and optimize new technologies that enhance the organization’s IT infrastructure
Manage network and telecom service providers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness in service delivery
Develop and enforce IT operations policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain a secure and efficient network environment
Collaborate with IT leadership to align network infrastructure with organizational goals and system requirements
Train and mentor entry level team members to strengthen the overall capabilities of the IT support team
Manage and execute projects using standard project planning methodologies to improve network and telecom systems
Ensure compliance with change management processes for all network and telecom-related updates.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or a related field
Strong expertise in network architecture, design, and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with Cisco products, including switches, routers, and firewalls
Proficiency in implementing and managing network security measures
Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to respond effectively to IT operational issues
Strong communication and leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and guide team members
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
