Job Responsibility:
Help develop, modernize, and sustain secure and resilient network capabilities that support critical defense operations
Use skills in network design, architecture, Layer 2/3 technologies, and system interoperability to improve reliability, availability, and performance across mission‑focused environments
Contribute to engineering efforts including implementation planning, technical reviews, test activities, and upgrades supporting enterprise‑wide modernization
Apply knowledge in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies
Requirements:
6+ years of experience with IP networking design and troubleshooting
Experience architecting and designing complex network systems and leading the testing and deployment of systems or solutions
Experience with Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls set up and configuration
Experience with network and firewall troubleshooting or problem-solving
Experience configuring and troubleshooting IPv6 or IPSec VPNs
Knowledge of routing protocols, including MPLS, BGP, or Multicast
Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
Nice to have:
Experience leading large‑scale network modernization, migration, or redesign initiatives
Experience creating or approving engineering plans, topology diagrams, and risk assessments
Experience coordinating across engineering, cyber, operations, and mission stakeholders
Knowledge of enterprise engineering standards and long‑term architecture planning
Ability to mentor junior and mid‑level engineers, influence engineering decisions, and improve SOPs, baselines, and repeatable engineering processes independently
Ability to communicate complex network principles and designs to clients
Possession of excellent time management, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills
Top Secret clearance

Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification (CCNP), Security+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification
