We are looking for a Network Engineer/PM to support a major network modernization initiative for an O&G organization in Houston, Texas. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on networking specialist who can also coordinate workstreams, review project schedules, and help keep delivery efforts aligned with technical objectives. The role combines deep infrastructure expertise with project oversight, including collaboration with offshore teams and support for key deployment milestones throughout the engagement.
Job Responsibility
Lead network engineering activities for a large-scale refresh initiative, ensuring technical work is completed in line with project goals and agreed timelines
Coordinate day-to-day efforts with offshore resources, providing direction, tracking progress, and helping resolve delivery issues
Evaluate project plans, schedules, and implementation approaches to confirm they are practical, accurate, and aligned with business needs
Support the execution of network changes and cutover events, including occasional after-hours involvement when required and approved
Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Aruba networking environments, including wireless access points and switching infrastructure
Administer and support Palo Alto firewall solutions to maintain secure, reliable network connectivity across the organization
Work with routing technologies such as BGP to sustain stable communications between sites and critical network segments
Partner with technical and project stakeholders to communicate status, identify risks, and help drive the refresh project through completion
Contribute to deployment planning and, when needed, travel to support implementation activities while maintaining a standard work schedule
Requirements
Proven experience in network engineering with the ability to contribute both technically and through project coordination
Hands-on expertise with Aruba networking technologies, including access points and switches
Strong working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls in enterprise environments
Practical experience with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and related routing concepts
Ability to review implementation plans and timelines and identify gaps, risks, or required adjustments
Experience coordinating or overseeing offshore technical resources in a structured delivery environment
Willingness to provide occasional after-hours support for network cutovers and travel as project demands require
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and project teams
