Meta's Site Services team is seeking a Network Engineer to support the deployment and operations of enterprise network services across Meta's physical site infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end deployment, troubleshooting, and operational support of enterprise network systems — including switching, routing, wireless, and access layer infrastructure — that enable Meta's campuses and facilities to function reliably at scale. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams spanning network engineering, facilities, and IT to ensure site network services are delivered with high quality and operational rigor.
Job Responsibility:
Deploy and commission enterprise network infrastructure including switching, routing, wireless access points, and access layer systems across Meta's site and campus environments
Investigate and resolve complex network incidents affecting site services, coordinating with cross-functional teams and vendor partners to drive timely resolution and minimize impact
Participate in on-call rotation to support site network operations, identifying opportunities to improve escalation processes, tooling, and automation to reduce recurring issues
Collaborate with network engineering and facilities teams to ensure site network deployments align with design standards, reliability requirements, and security and compliance policies
Maintain accurate operational documentation, network inventory records, and configuration data to support ongoing site services operations and audit readiness
Analyze operational event trends and fault data to identify automation opportunities that reduce manual intervention and improve network reliability across site deployments
Partner with managed service providers and third-party vendors to coordinate deployment activities, track performance against service commitments, and drive resolution of delivery issues
Contribute to the development and enforcement of network standards and operational procedures for site services, ensuring consistent and compliant deployment practices across locations
Support capacity planning and infrastructure readiness efforts by tracking site network utilization, identifying gaps, and providing input into short- and long-term deployment roadmaps
Requirements:
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
2+ years of experience in enterprise network operations, deployment, or support roles involving switching, routing, wireless, and access layer infrastructure
Experience troubleshooting TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol, and wireless networking protocols in complex multi-site or campus environments
Experience working with network hardware vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or equivalent platforms in an operational or deployment capacity
Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners including facilities, IT, and vendor teams to deliver network infrastructure projects
Experience maintaining operational documentation, network inventory systems, and configuration records to support compliance and audit requirements
Nice to have:
Experience using data analysis or network monitoring tools to identify fault trends, measure operational performance, and inform infrastructure improvements
Demonstrated use of AI tools to optimize network operations workflows, automate documentation, or accelerate troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Experience with network automation scripting using Python or similar languages to reduce manual operational tasks in site services environments
Familiarity with physical infrastructure components including structured cabling, fiber optic systems, patch panels, and data center or IDF/MDF environments relevant to campus network deployments
