Job Description

A vacancy for a Network Engineer / Product Manager Connectivity has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space. You will be part of the international CONNECTIVITY Team. You will be responsible for technology development, integration testing and deployment, it’s lifecycle, as well developing technical skills. It is your obligation to create the best end-customer experience possible, set direction for new technologies and considering Airbus internal as well outside conditions within this service. In addition to your good technical skills, the role also requires outstanding process-, project management- and communication abilities. You will work closely with Project/Program managers, Service Owners, external service providers, Airbus Security and other IT teams to keep the current service infrastructure running, improve it by innovative and new capabilities and to manage quickly and professionally operational issues. You will need to be a creative thinker able to propose and support new ways to increase the overall service quality. Other responsibilities will include the support of digitalization and innovation projects/programs.

Job Responsibility

  • to maintain the lifecycle of the Network Products (LAN, WAN, Firewall, Encryption, DDI, Proxy etc.)
  • to manage improvements, updates, changes and obsolescence management of products
  • to maintain Product strategies improving efficiency, quality and productivity aspects
  • to design and develop state of the art network services
  • to assure the compliance with all legal and IM security regulations, in close coordination with Chief Information Security Officer
  • to maintain the infrastructure in operational condition in line with OLA/SLAs
  • to manage the economic aspects of the product e.g. budget planning
  • to maintain the ITIL based support processes that include incident, problem, change, configuration, and event management
  • to contribute to analysis of console messages, diagnoses system failures and takes corrective action in order to ensure continuity of operations, escalating to other technical teams and vendors as needed
  • to supervise system backup processing, and leads disaster recovery tests Identifies and implements technologies and processes that improve the reliability, efficiency and availability of the systems environment

Requirements

  • Educated to an Engineering Master or Bachelor degree preferably in IT or Telecommunications or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in Network - WAN (BGP, OSPF and routing protocols, QoS, Routers communities, VRFs...)
  • Strong experience in Cisco devices (routing and switching) and/or Network and security management platforms.
  • English: Negotiation level, Spanish: is mandatory
  • Multidisciplinary profile willing to take multiple challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Network certifications will be a plus
  • Encryption experience will be a plus (Encryption protocols: https, IPSEC... / Crypto boxes: Compumatica, Genua, Cisco manufacturers)
