Job Description

This is a project-based employee role supporting the verification, validation, and readiness of our autonomous vehicle platforms. Development phases of this nature typically span through project completion (typically 2-4 years), though scope and duration are driven by business needs. We are hiring a Network Engineer II to support, maintain, and evolve ASI's network infrastructure across corporate environments and autonomous technology operations. This role ensures high availability, security, scalability, and performance of networking systems that support internal teams, customer deployments, and field validation efforts.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintain and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless systems, and related infrastructure
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability across environments
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and performance issues
  • Install, configure, and upgrade network hardware and software
  • Support secure connectivity for remote teams and deployed systems
  • Document network configurations, standards, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Assist with firewall configuration, patching, and security updates
  • Implement and maintain VPN access controls and segmentation strategies
  • Support security monitoring, vulnerability mitigation, and incident response
  • Apply network security best practices aligned with industry standards
  • Contribute to network performance improvements and infrastructure upgrades
  • Assist with scripting or automation of routine network tasks
  • Participate in system upgrades and infrastructure modernization efforts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support robotics and autonomous deployments

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, IT infrastructure, or cybersecurity
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, and enterprise networking concepts
  • Experience managing firewalls, VPNs, and network security tools
  • Familiarity with network monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark)
  • Basic scripting or automation knowledge (Python, PowerShell) preferred
  • Certifications preferred: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent
  • Ability to independently manage moderately complex network systems

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting robotics, automation, or field-deployed systems
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud and on-prem network environments
  • Experience implementing network segmentation in high-security environments
  • Familiarity with Agile or iterative infrastructure improvement practices
