Meta's Edge & Network Service (ENS) team is actively looking for people to help us tackle the unique set of challenges and opportunities we face, while contributing to our company mission of connecting the world. Our team is the execution arm of the Meta network team and is responsible for the deployment and support of all production networks (Edge, Backbone, Optical, and Datacenter) as well as our content delivery network (CDN) across the globe. Job Responsibility:

  • Deployment, configuration, and management of all network infrastructure on our Co-location, Point of presence & Datacenter campus
  • Troubleshooting of workflows/ tools, unblocking teams in capacity delivery by accessing urgency of issues, identifying RCAs and getting permanent fixes
  • This role requires a proactive approach to analyzing data, which will involve creative problem-solving to identify areas for improvement and drive process streamlining. A key focus will be on building scalable workflows and tools to support network deployment and accelerate global expansion
  • Work with partner teams and vendors to manage day-to-day operations and reliability of the regional network
  • Schedule and perform maintenance including upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning of production networks
  • Create deployment install packages and maintain as-built documentation and asset database for network and computing equipment
  • Establish and implement global best practices and contribute to the design of new scalable network solutions
  • Support the development, testing and integration of new hardware and software platforms into the network
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support the network infrastructure 24x7
  • 10-30% travel based on project

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of networking engineering experience
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated experience in working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of queue management, time management, and organization skills
  • Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, load balancing, switching, routing, and administration of networking hardware
  • Experience with IPv6, BGP, Cisco IOS, Cisco IOS-XR, Cisco NX-OS, Arista EOS, and Linux shell
  • In-depth understanding of Content Delivery Network & IP network, resolve alerts, tickets, support on-call and handle escalations
  • Knowledge of container technologies (LXC, Docker), databases (MySQL), and CI/CD processes (Jenkins, Gitlab, Bamboo)
  • Physical infrastructure design knowledge, including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling

Nice to have:

  • Programming & Scripting Skills
  • Technical leadership capabilities and ability to work in ambiguous environments and providing solutions
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or minimum 8 years industry experience
  • Experience with field-based work in Data Centers, Colocation Facilities, Internet Exchanges, or Central Offices
