Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Network Engineer 2 to support the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise network environments. This role focuses on advanced network architecture, security enforcement, and performance across complex datacenter and enterprise infrastructures. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with network design and security technologies, contributing to both buildout and operational support of high-performance network environments.
Job Responsibility
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network architecture across LAN and datacenter environments
Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
Support network security architecture, including firewalls, access controls, and secure boundaries
Monitor and optimize network performance, ensuring reliability and scalability
Configure and manage IPSEC VPNs and secure communication channels
Analyze network traffic and perform packet capture for troubleshooting and performance tuning
Work with TCP/IP protocols, routing, and switching to maintain network integrity
Support virtualization technologies, including VMware and container-based solutions
Maintain documentation and track work through ticketing systems
Participate in on-call support and live operational environments
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Two (2) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree
Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering, including LAN design, architecture, monitoring, security, and protection
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent)
Experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and IPSEC VPNs
DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants
This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.
