Job Description:

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking Network Controllers to support a major federal defense communications program responsible for operating and securing the primary IT network used across all U.S. military branches. This role supports global network operations (24/7) within a large, stable, long‑term contract environment. The Network Controller will provide enterprise-level monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response across one of the world’s largest and most complex defense communication networks, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity for military and federal mission partners.

Job Responsibility:

  • Monitor global network infrastructure, including routers, switches, crypto devices, voice, and video systems
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and service disruptions within defined SLAs
  • Perform initial triage and escalate technical issues to higher‑tier teams as needed
  • Log actions and resolutions in enterprise ticketing and reporting systems
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external mission partners to resolve network events
  • Support continuous 24/7/365 operations through rotating 8‑hour shift schedules
  • Maintain compliance with federal security, configuration, and operational requirements

Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance (some positions require Top Secret)
  • DoD 8570 IAT II certification (Security+ CE) — required prior to start
  • 0–2 years for entry-level
  • 3–5 years for mid‑level
  • 5–7+ years for senior
  • Experience with routers, switches, crypto equipment, voice/video technologies
  • Familiarity with Cisco and Juniper platforms
  • Ability to work in a structured 24/7 rotating shift environment
  • Willingness to relocate to one of the supported locations (no relocation assistance provided)
