Job Description:

Morson Edge have partnered with a large retail client undergoing significant transformation, to recruit an experienced Network Architect to play a key role in shaping and modernising their enterprise network landscape. This is a high-impact role where you’ll act as the go-to Subject Matter Expert for network technologies, driving architecture, influencing strategy, and supporting delivery across a vast and complex estate. You’ll be at the centre of large-scale initiatives, including cloud migration, software-defined networking, and enterprise infrastructure evolution, ensuring the network platform is resilient and scalable.

Job Responsibility:

Lead the end-to-end design and architecture of enterprise network solutions
Act as the SME for networking technologies, supporting both strategy and delivery
Define and deliver a network technology roadmap aligned to business transformation goals
Oversee and assure solutions delivered by third-party suppliers and partners
Drive continuous improvement across network performance, scalability, and user experience
Support design authority governance, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards
Provide technical leadership during major incidents and complex troubleshooting scenarios
Lead network architecture across cloud migration and hybrid environments
Identify and manage technical debt, risks, and architectural exceptions

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Network Architect within large, enterprise-scale environments
Strong track record delivering network transformation programmes, including cloud migrations
Experience working with system integrators, vendors, and cross-functional teams
Ability to assess current state, identify gaps, and define future-state architecture and roadmaps
Deep knowledge of: Enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, routing & switching)
Software-defined networking (SDN)
Cloud networking (Azure, hybrid connectivity)
Network security (firewalls, proxies, VPNs)
Hands-on experience with: VPNs, split tunnelling, and end-user connectivity
Security technologies (Palo Alto, Cisco, Zscaler desirable)
Azure ExpressRoute and cloud interconnects
VoIP, vPBX, and PSTN connectivity

Nice to have:

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, comfortable working with both technical teams and senior leadership
Experience acting as a trusted technical authority on large-scale transformation initiatives
Proven leadership across multi-disciplinary and distributed teams
