Job Description

You'll play a critical role in keeping Vodafone compliant with UK government legislation, working at the heart of some of our most secure and mission-critical technology. This is a hands-on technical role with real impact, where your expertise helps protect the integrity of Vodafone's UK network while enabling lawful access obligations to be met safely and reliably.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead integration activities between highly specialised compliance platforms and Vodafone's UK mobile network, including Ericsson core network components, IP infrastructure, and supporting IT systems
  • Act as a trusted technical authority within your area of expertise (IP, UNIX/Linux, mobile core networks, or systems integration), shaping integration design, configuration, and validation
  • Work closely with architecture and design leads to ensure all integrations align with security, operational, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate day-to-day with Ericsson and other trusted third-party vendors, helping to align systems, interfaces, data flows, and operational behaviours
  • Step in as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, leading investigations across network, platform, and integration domains and driving issues through to resolution
  • Support planned changes, upgrades, and enhancements, ensuring stability, auditability, and security before, during, and after change windows
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing your knowledge through hands-on guidance, documentation, and the development of learning pathways that strengthen the whole team
  • Operate with the highest levels of professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling sensitive systems and information in a regulated, security-sensitive environment

Requirements

  • Significant hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: IP networking (routing, switching, firewalls, segmentation)
  • UNIX/Linux systems and platform integration
  • Mobile network engineering (core networks, signalling, service integration)
  • Complex systems integration across network and IT estates
  • Strong experience integrating systems across multiple technical domains, with a solid understanding of interfaces, data flows, protocols, and dependencies
  • Background working in large-scale telecommunications or similarly complex, networked environments (experience with Ericsson technologies is a plus)
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in live environments involving multiple systems and vendors
  • Confidence working with senior engineers, vendors, and stakeholders, providing technical leadership without formal line management responsibility
  • A collaborative mindset and enjoyment of sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and helping teams grow sustainably
  • Eligibility for, or existing, SC security clearance, with the judgement and professionalism required for sensitive operational roles
