Job Description:

We are looking for a Network Administrator to support and enhance enterprise connectivity in San Antonio, Texas. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who can maintain reliable network operations, improve performance, and provide timely technical support to internal teams and external partners. The person in this role will work across LAN and WAN environments, ensuring network infrastructure is well configured, documented, and aligned with business needs.

Job Responsibility:

Monitor network activity and evaluate system performance to identify issues and implement improvements that increase reliability and efficiency
Apply software updates, patching, and hardware adjustments to maintain stable operations and address infrastructure weaknesses
Configure and maintain LAN and WAN components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and related network devices
Create and keep accurate technical documentation for network configurations, topology, and support procedures
Troubleshoot connectivity and performance problems reported by employees, administrators, service providers, site contacts, and vendors
Provide day-to-day technical support for network-related incidents, service requests, and operational questions
Work with stakeholders and external partners to resolve escalated issues and ensure network services meet business expectations
Support deployment, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of Cisco-based network environments across multiple layers of infrastructure

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in network administration or data network support
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with LAN and WAN design, implementation, maintenance, and support
Practical experience with Cisco networking technologies, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 environments
Working knowledge of switches, firewalls, and WAN connectivity in business-critical networks
Familiarity with VMware and VMware Infrastructure in support of enterprise environments
Experience supporting Microsoft technologies such as Windows 10 and Office 365
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills with the ability to assist both technical and non-technical users
