We are looking for a Network Administrator to support enterprise communications infrastructure in Schertz, Texas. This position focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting voice, data, video, and access control environments while ensuring reliable service for customer sites. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with network cabling, telecommunications equipment, and technical diagnostics, along with a detail-oriented approach to customer interaction and service documentation.
Job Responsibility:
Interpret technical materials such as network layouts, wiring schematics, shop drawings, and equipment manuals to complete installations and service work accurately
Diagnose and resolve Tier II issues affecting voice, data, video, and access control systems to restore connectivity and minimize downtime
Install, route, terminate, and test structured cabling for racks, workstations, riser pathways, and both interior and exterior plant environments in accordance with industry and company standards
Perform fiber optic cabling installation and termination while helping maintain dependable network performance across customer locations
Service and support telecommunications hardware and related voice and data equipment at enterprise client sites
Use logical troubleshooting methods to isolate faults, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs for network and communication outages
Record service activity, repair outcomes, and installation details within the ticketing system to maintain accurate operational documentation
Coordinate with dispatch and service leadership to organize daily assignments efficiently while delivering attentive support to customers, vendors, and internal teams
Participate in after-hours, callout, and nonstandard work schedules as needed, and travel to service locations using an assigned company vehicle
Follow established safety practices to protect personnel, equipment, and the public while maintaining dependable attendance and strong job performance
Requirements:
High school diploma required
an associate degree in Electronics Technology is preferred
a bachelor's degree in Technology or Engineering is an advantage
At least 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications, network administration, or low-voltage systems support
4 or more years of direct field experience is strongly preferred for advanced troubleshooting work
Working knowledge of structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber installations, terminations, and testing practices
Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic low-voltage electrical and telecommunications issues in customer environments
Mid-level understanding of data networking concepts, including LAN connectivity, Cisco networking equipment, routers, firewall technologies, and Active Directory
Experience supporting PBX and IP telephony environments, including VoIP systems and voice over internet protocol solutions
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with professionalism, sound judgment, and attention to detail
