Job Description:

We are looking for a strongly technical Software Development Manager / Tech Lead who can lead engineering teams while staying close to architecture and code. This role is for someone who comes from a solid technical background and has grown into a leadership position, not the other way around. You will join a large-scale, long-term FinTech project from the UK, already in progress, involving around 700 developers organized into multiple autonomous modules. The domain includes payments and financial systems, so prior experience in this area is mandatory.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional technical teams (Backend, Frontend, DevOps, QA)
  • Own and drive technical strategy, architecture, and code quality
  • Design and oversee scalable, secure solutions based on .NET and cloud platforms
  • Stay hands-on with architecture reviews, technical decisions, and code reviews
  • Translate business requirements into clear and effective technical solutions
  • Collaborate closely with international stakeholders (UK, Europe, USA, APAC)
  • Support onboarding, knowledge sharing, and team growth
  • Monitor project progress, technical risks, and KPIs
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in designing and delivering IT solutions
  • At least 3 years in a leadership role (Tech Lead / Software Development Manager)
  • Strong FinTech background with hands-on experience in payments systems – MUST
  • Strong expertise in: .NET Core, Microservices architecture, DDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing
  • Practical experience with: Cloud platforms (Azure and/or GCP), Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of DevOps, Agile, and modern software delivery practices
  • Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring senior engineers
  • Experience working on large, complex, long-running projects with many teams and dependencies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic, large-scale environment
  • Proactive, problem-solving, and goal-oriented mindset
  • Strong relationship-building skills across technical and business teams
  • Higher technical education (Computer Science, Engineering, or similar)
  • English: C1 level (daily communication with international teams)
