Job Description:

The Retirement Plan Services Technology group builds and maintains the applications and platforms that power Schwab’s retirement plan business—one of the leading providers of retirement solutions for medium to large-sized companies across the U.S. As a .NET Developer, you’ll be a hands-on technical contributor and collaborative team member, helping design, build, and support scalable software solutions that support retirement plan administration.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, test, and support software applications that enable retirement plan administration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Participate in system design discussions and contribute to defining technical requirements
  • Build and maintain automated tests to support quality and reliability
  • Release applications to production on a regular cadence using modern CI/CD practices
  • Provide production support for applications that require high availability and reliability
  • Share knowledge, mentor others, and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of experience designing and developing applications using .NET
  • Experience applying object-oriented design principles
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and building SOAP and REST-based services
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical partners
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban)
  • 3+ years of experience working with Delphi
  • Utilization of AI to perform coding tasks preferred
  • Experience with test-driven development and automated testing strategies
  • Familiarity with tools such as GitHub and the Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo)
  • Experience with front-end or distributed systems technologies such as Angular, microservices, or cloud-native architectures
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and modern deployment models
  • Experience in the financial services industry
