Provides respiratory therapies following age-appropriate standards of care and departmental guidelines
Performs and maintains competency for point-of-care testing, as assigned, ensuring compliance with WFBH policies and with applicable state and federal regulations
Completes documentation requirements for patient record and billing
Reports information to relief personnel to ensure continuity of care for the patient
Provides educational enhancement to allied health practitioners
Ensures age/developmentally appropriate patient care is provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served
Attends all required in-services, staff meetings, and team conferences
Requirements:
Graduate of an AMA approved two or four year program for respiratory care, or satisfies the requirements in the admissions policies of the NBRC for registry examinations
Two years' experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
Two years' clinical experience with critical care patients (neonatal / pediatric preferred)
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Licensed to practice as an RCP in the state of applicable state
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) OR Pediatric ITLS
Strong oral, written, and listening communication skills
Ability to provide direct and indirect respiratory care
Ability to perform multiple tasks under stress
Ability to demonstrate and perform advanced practice skills including: Endotracheal Intubation, Arterial Puncture, arterial sampling from indwelling lines, Umbilical Catheter Insertion, Needle Chest Decompression, Intraosseous Cannulation and External Jugular Cannulation
Ability to demonstrate and perform competencies with administering NCRCB approved pharmacologic agents
