Neonatal Staff Nurse Band 5 or Neonatal Sister/Charge Nurse Band 6 - Full time (37.5 hours) and part time hours available. Our Neonatal unit has 18 cots, which is comprised of 2 intensive cots, 4 high dependency cots and 12 special care cot's. We are a designated Local Neonatal Unit, (Level 2), providing excellent care for preterm babies from 27 weeks' gestation and for sick new born babies. We provide stabilisation for babies born at lower gestations prior to transfer to tertiary units by a designated network transport team.
Job Responsibility:
Work alongside an experienced team to provide care to a range of babies with a variety of conditions
Provide care to a range of babies with a variety of conditions
Lead the shift on a day to day basis as a supernumerary shift coordinator (Band 6)
Lead the nursing team ensuring the babies and their parents are at the center of everything we do
Uphold standards and are a role model to ensure quality of care is delivered to babies across the multidisciplinary team
Requirements:
Registered Midwife
Practising Midwife
Maintained an up to date professional portfolio
Training in management of obstetric emergencies
Valid Driving Licence
to have obtained or be studying to degree level (or diploma with equivalent experience)
Recent experience in all aspects of midwifery practice.
Competencies relevant to sphere of practice.
Experience within UK maternity services
Current NMC Registration
Midwifery experience gained through training
Nice to have:
Teaching/Mentoring qualification
Evidence of further study and development of professional and academic skills
Experience of mentoring students
Ability to use flexible, innovative approaches to practice which are tailored to meet the individual needs of the clients
