Job Description:

The Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Practitioner who is accountable for a 'defined' patient population. Possesses and exhibits a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in the provision of health care directly to the patient, family or community, or indirectly through guidance of care by other professional personnel.

Job Responsibility:

  • Functions in the roles of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, patient advocate, care coordinator and researcher within a specialized area of practice
  • Provision of patient care is conducted and performed utilizing the medical model under the supervision of the CCS paneled Neonatologist and functions in accordance to standardized procedures within the scope of licensure.

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree Nursing (required)
  • Program Graduate of a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program (required)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • RN - Reg Nurse (required)
  • NP - Nurse Practitioner (required)
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (required)
  • NP-C - Nurse Practitioner Natl Certification National certification from an accredited certifying board. within six (6) months of hire or transfer into position (required) Or NCC - Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse (required)
  • Minimum three (3) years Related experience (required)
  • Minimum five (5) years Increasingly responsible experience which demonstrates professional working knowledge of nursing theory and practice, with competence in physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology and management of acute and chronic pediatric problems. (preferred)
  • Bilingual Skills Preferred
  • Must successfully complete the credentialing process through the Medical Staff office via CIDP for the appropriate scope of practice, written standardized protocols, and furnishing privileges.
