Job Responsibility:
Perform respiratory procedures under physician direction and/or clinical guidelines in the care of Flight for Life NICU patients for transports and hospital base
Responsible for patient assessments, care plans, plan implementation and evaluation, and revision of therapy plan as needed
Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure the most effective and efficient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes
Utilize knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient care
Serve in a mentoring capacity for the therapy staff and oversee day to day operations including staffing, clinical competencies, staff development, performance evaluations and regulatory compliance
Support the organization vision and mission and practices performance improvement techniques to assure the delivery of the most effective patient care
Requirements:
Program Respiratory Therapy, required
Three years of respiratory therapy experience including a Level III or IV NICU setting
Knowledge and experience in medical/trauma terminology, disease conditions, pharmacology, treatment modalities, therapeutic testing and interventions
High School Diploma
Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program, i.e. CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP, required
Associate Degree, required
Current credential of CRT or RRT by N.B.R.C., required
Current state Respiratory Therapist Licensure (RLT) in applicable state of employment
Basic Life Support American Heart Association, required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support American Heart Association, required
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program, required upon hire
Certified Neonatal and Pediatric Transport (C-NPT) upon hire or within two years
Valid Driver License, required
Must maintain current on all certifications required by Commission for Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems
Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
Nice to have:
Critical Care air and ground transport experience, preferred
Previous leadership experience, preferred
Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR), preferred
Bachelor Degree, preferred
S.T.A.B.L.E. certificate, preferred
