Job Description:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Neighbourhood Officer to join a leading Housing Association, supporting safe, compliant and well-managed neighbourhoods across Swale, Kent. This is a mobile, front-line role focused on resident safety, building compliance and community engagement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carry out regular neighbourhood, health & safety and fire safety inspections across estates and schemes
  • Complete welfare and vulnerability checks and produce person-centred risk assessments where required
  • Ensure actions from Fire Risk Assessments and building safety legislation are completed within timescales
  • Monitor standards of communal cleaning, gardening and repairs, escalating issues where necessary
  • Validate service charges by checking services delivered offer value for money and are accurately recorded
  • Work closely with internal teams, contractors, local authorities and external agencies to resolve issues
  • Provide clear feedback to residents following inspections, including updates on communal repairs and safety actions

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar Neighbourhood Officer, Housing Officer or Estate Management role within a Housing Association or Local Authority setting
  • Strong knowledge of housing compliance, health & safety and fire safety within communal areas
  • Experience undertaking estate inspections, risk assessments and managing follow-up actions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage positively with residents and stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage a mobile workload and meet deadlines
  • Confident using housing management systems to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Must be a full UK Driving Licence holder and have access to own vehicle
