Our Asset Integrity Management team are currently looking for an NDT Technician (Advanced) to help support an upcoming offshore hook-up project scope. You will be responsible for conducting inspection activities in accordance with approved inspection plans and internal procedures.
Job Responsibility
Responsible for conducting inspection activities in accordance with approved inspection plans and internal procedures
Required to perform advanced level inspection activities and provide technical guidance during implementation of new NDT technologies or compliance audits
Independently conduct the operations of advanced NDT methods by executing inspection plans and schedules, coordinating all inspection field requirements and issuing reports
Mentor technicians, assess competency, and identify training and certification requirements in relation to new advanced inspection technology
Provide consultation to operating plants regarding their inspection challenges
Draft technique documents for new advanced NDT inspection campaigns
Forecast new projects for NDT technology implementation
Assist with planning manpower requirements for advanced inspection technologies
Adopt standard safe work practices and procedures in accordance with HSE policies
Ensure inspection equipment is maintained and ensure equipment testing and re-calibration is kept up to date
Produce detailed reports of inspections, clearly identifying the scope and any defects or inconsistencies found
Requirements
Post secondary certificate in a related discipline, or a combination of relevant education and experience
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience as a field inspection technician
Level II certification in ET, RT and UT disciplines of Non Destructive Testing in accordance with CAN/CGSB-48.9712-2014 or equivalent standard
Ability to interpret and make decisions on methods and techniques to be utilized for inspection work
Must complete mandatory safety training and meet qualifications required for work offshore, including physical ability to work at heights, or enter confined spaces
Must be able to travel offshore on periodic visits, as required
Aware of latest developments in advanced NDT technologies
Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office
Nice to have
Additional training and certification in Advanced UT methods such as PAUT and TOFD would be an asset
IRATA Rope Access Certification is considered an asset
