We are recruiting dedicated, empathetic, and adaptable NCFE Teachers for daily and long-term roles at wonderful specialist schools, alternative provisions, and post-16 SEND bases in and around Papworth Everard. This role is ideal for vocational educators who want to help learners with additional needs-such as Autism (ASD), moderate to severe learning difficulties, or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs-gain practical, life-changing qualifications in a supportive environment.
Job Responsibility
Deliver engaging, highly differentiated NCFE lessons (ranging from Entry Level up to Level 2/3) tailored to the unique learning styles, communication profiles, and sensory needs of SEND pupils
Guide learners through their coursework portfolios, breaking down tasks into manageable chunks and providing the positive reinforcement needed for them to succeed
Maintain a calm, low-arousal, and safe learning environment, utilising proactive de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour support (PBS) to manage challenging behaviours safely
Work closely with a skilled team of specialist Teaching Assistants, therapists, and support staff to ensure each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) is fully supported
Requirements
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed) or a relevant vocational training/assessing qualification
Proven experience delivering NCFE frameworks (or similar vocational paths like BTEC or City & Guilds), ideally within a specialist or alternative education setting
A patient, nurturing, and resilient nature
Strong differentiation skills and a passion for teaching young people who thrive outside of a traditional academic curriculum
A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one)
