Ensure that the vessels are built according to the building specifications, the approved drawings and standards and according to the applicable rules and regulations
Anticipate the potential technical or construction issues
Issue, Follow-up and overview comments for NavCom & IT systems
Discuss with the representatives of the Yard, of the Classification Society , of the Manufacturers/Makers or of the Subcontractors to find solutions to technical issues
Report any significant issues to your Site-Manager and Navcom/ IT Dept.
Ensure that the weekly reports are properly filled and ready on date
Attend inspections

and testing
Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and Sea trials and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
Carry-out the installation and commissioning of some of the owner’s supplied equipment’s when it is required
Coordinate the activities of third-party engineers for commissioning and testing of the related equipment
Prepare the vessels for readiness prior delivery
Hand-over the Navcom and IT systems to the crew and carry-out debugging
Pro-actively manage and plan your scope of activity
Review and approve procedures
Review and comment drawings if delegated to you
You may be required to perform other duties.
Keep up to date list of approved soft ware version installed on the various systems
Keep up to date a list of user ID and PW for system that is PW protected
Collect serial numbers of all systems
Requirements:
5 years experience as commissioning Engineer for navigation & communication equipment’s and IT systems in the offshore or marine industry
Overall understanding of the functions, operations and inter-relations of navigation & communication systems, IT infrastructure and OT connectivity is required
Bachelor’s degree in Navigation, Electronics & Communications Engineering or Computer technology, or related
