Job Description

The National Value & Market Access Manager is a strategic role responsible for developing and executing strategies to secure optimal pricing, reimbursement and patient access for the Alfasigma portfolio within the UK and Ireland healthcare systems. The role acts as the strategic access partner to Commercial, Marketing and Medical teams, ensuring the product value story is translated into successful national and local reimbursement outcomes, aligned with both local healthcare system requirements and regional/global guidance. The role will play a critical part in shaping and executing integrated national and regional access strategies, ensuring alignment with commercial and medical objectives and healthcare system requirements. The National Market Access Lead will also develop tools and frameworks to support Regional Market Access Managers in delivering successful local implementation.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead access planning across Alfasigma product portfolio lifecycle stages, including pre-launch, early access (if appropriate), launch, and post-launch optimisation
  • Lead all HTA dossier submissions (e.g., NICE, SMC, NCPE) and national/regional tenders across UK & Ireland, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Medical, HEOR, Regulatory, Commercial) to generate robust value propositions and evidence packages
  • Lead UK & Ireland pricing strategy across the commercial portfolio in collaboration with the GM and Global Team, ensuring robust governance, regulatory compliance, and alignment with company policies
  • Identify and mitigate access risks related to reimbursement, budget impact, policy changes, or competitive dynamics
  • Collaborate with commercial and supply teams to optimise tender outcomes and contract performance
  • In collaboration with the Senior Commercial Director, develop and lead national and regional market access strategies
  • In line with the national and regional access strategies, develop associated value messaging, tools and resources for implementation by the Regional Access Team
  • Support the Regional Access Managers with the insights, training, and resources required to execute access strategies effectively
  • In collaboration with the brand team, support Value Proposition & Evidence Generation by defining and articulating product value propositions tailored to UK payers and NHS stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Marketing and Commercial teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including payers, HTA bodies, and healthcare decision-makers
  • Act as a key partner to Commercial, Medical, HEOR, and Regulatory teams
  • Work collaboratively with global Alfasigma Value and Access partners

Requirements

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Health Economics, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Significant experience in Market Access, tendering or Pricing within the UK pharmaceutical/biotech sector
  • HCP and Payer facing experience in the UK or Ireland pharmaceutical sector (preferred)
  • Proven track record of leading HTA submissions with deep knowledge of NICE, SMC, NCPE and HSE appraisal processes and cost-effectiveness frameworks
  • Strong expertise in pricing, reimbursement, and tender processes
  • Experience in developing and implementing national and regional access strategies
  • Proven experience & success in regional market access & NHS engagement, ideally within immunology and hepatology
