Job Description:

We’re strengthening our Travis Perkins Hire business and building a team to win new customers, re-engage lapsed accounts and unlock major growth opportunities. To support this, we’re looking for a National Sales Manager who can lead a sales team, drive strategic growth and make a real commercial impact. This role sits within our newly formed Central Hire Sales Team, an exciting environment where you’ll help shape the customer strategy and support new branch openings, blitz activity and competitive market responses.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and motivate your team to deliver against key targets and KPIs
  • Engage directly with customers to build relationships and generate sales
  • Win back lapsed accounts and secure new opportunities from competitors
  • Collaborate with internal and external sales colleagues to maximise growth
  • Use data and insight to drive commercial decisions and improve performance
  • Ensure a brilliant customer experience at every touchpoint
  • Manage a portfolio worth up to £20m across the team

Requirements:

  • Proven sales and negotiation experience
  • Strong relationship-building skills (branch, customer & senior management)
  • The ability to plan, organise and think strategically
  • A full UK driving licence (national travel required)
  • Hire experience and previous sales experience in a merchanting environment would be a real advantage
