Job Description:

Play a key leadership role in shaping the logistics, transport and warehousing activities that support our operations across Australia. Lead and improve the way we move and store our products across the country. Ensures our freight, transport and warehousing activities run efficiently, safely and in line with our business and customer needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement practical logistics, transport and warehousing solutions that improve how our product moves across the country
  • Provide day to day leadership, coaching and support to the logistics team, helping build capability and effective ways of working
  • Manage key logistics and warehousing contracts, ensuring clear expectations and reliable performance from our partners
  • Lead the procurement and tendering of freight and warehouse services, securing competitive commercial and service outcomes
  • Champion Chain of Responsibility and support safe, compliant behaviours with our carriers and sites
  • Improve the efficiency of our network by optimising transport modes, routing, equipment use and freight frequency
  • Work with internal teams to align stock holdings and stock movements with business and customer needs
  • Strengthen inventory accuracy and controls to support DIFOT and minimise stock losses
  • Identify and deliver cost to serve improvements and opportunities to reduce waste
  • Build collaborative relationships with operations teams, transport providers and commercial stakeholders
  • Lead issue resolution for freight and carrier matters to maintain service continuity
  • Keep our logistics and warehouse contingency plans current and fit-for-purpose
  • Contribute to broader supply chain and commercial projects that support business priorities

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance or a related discipline
  • 10+ years leadership experience in logistics, freight, supply chain or operations
  • Proven people leadership experience in coaching and developing teams
  • Strong negotiation and supplier engagement skills
  • Understanding of transport networks, warehouse operations and freight optimisation
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing significant budgets
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing across functions
  • Strong problem solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
  • A safety-first approach and a strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility
