We are seeking a technically strong finance professional who is also an effective communicator and enjoys improving financial processes and systems. This role will suit someone who is proactive, analytically minded, and capable of contributing to the financial reporting, governance, and operational effectiveness of a national organisation.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with preparation of monthly and annual financial reports
Support budgeting, financial planning and forecasting activities
Assist with taxation compliance including BAS and FBT
Support month-end and year-end financial close processes
Assist with financial reconciliations and financial analysis
Help coordinate day-to-day finance operations across the finance team
Support improvements to financial systems and processes
Provide financial support to AMWU branches where required
Assist with financial audits and regulatory compliance
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Economics
CPA or CA qualification (or working towards)
Strong financial reporting and reconciliation experience
Understanding of BAS, FBT and taxation compliance
Advanced Excel and strong analytical capability
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Nice to have:
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central)
Experience with Employment Hero payroll
Experience in a union, membership organisation or not-for-profit environment
