We're looking for a commercially astute National Business Manager – Grocery to join our Australian Sales team. Reporting to the Head of Sales – Grocery & Convenience, you'll take ownership of a major grocery customer portfolio, leading strategic customer partnerships, driving sustainable commercial growth and helping shape the future of our brands across Australia's leading retailers. Your Opportunity As National Business Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing long-term customer strategies that deliver sustainable sales, profit and market share growth across a major grocery retailer. Working closely with Category, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Customer Service, you'll lead Joint Business Planning, negotiate commercial agreements and identify opportunities that deliver value for both Vitaco and your customer. You'll build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders while ensuring outstanding execution across all aspects of the customer relationship. This is a highly visible role that requires strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, excellent relationship management skills and the ability to balance customer needs with business objectives.
Job Responsibility
Develop and execute strategic customer plans that deliver sustainable sales, profit and market share growth
Lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) and annual customer planning processes
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders
Manage customer P&L, forecasting, pricing, promotional investment and trade spend
Lead commercial negotiations including trading terms, pricing, promotions and range reviews
Identify ranging, distribution and new product opportunities that support long-term category growth
Analyse sales, shopper and category insights to identify commercial opportunities and provide recommendations
Prepare and deliver compelling customer presentations and business reviews
Partner closely with Category, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Customer Service to successfully execute customer plans
Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify future growth opportunities
Requirements
5+ years' experience within FMCG or retail, managing major grocery customers
Experience working with Coles and/or Woolworths
Proven experience developing and executing Joint Business Plans
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing customer P&L, forecasting, pricing and trade investment
Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret sales, category and financial data
Experience presenting commercial proposals and business reviews to senior customer stakeholders
Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and data analysis skills
Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Science or a related discipline
Nice to have
Experience using Circana, Nielsen, Aztec or similar market data platforms
Experience within the health, nutrition or broader FMCG industry
Category management or shopper insights experience
Leadership or mentoring experience
