Job Description

The National Business Development Manager role is responsible for generating, growing and maximising World Courier’s business opportunities and sales within Australia to drive the overall profitability and effectiveness of the organisation.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the growth and strategy of World Courier Australia
  • Promote World Courier products and services to achieve sales and long-lasting working relationships
  • Consistently meeting business development key performance indicators within Australia
  • Managing stakeholder relationships, expectations and ensuring these are exceeded on every occasion
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge around all World Courier service offerings
  • Responsible for pricing and service offering deviations and discounts
  • Management of all service failures
  • Develop and implement business development strategic direction
  • Manage all business development capital expenditure
  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction to ensure the effective function of the team
  • Monitor the business development team activities and goals in order to achieve the strategic objectives of World Courier Australia

Requirements

  • Territory qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or related area
  • Significant experience in the freight forwarding or science/laboratory industry
  • Experience with Cold Chain Solution will be highly preferred
  • Strong Solution Based Selling skill sets
  • Deep understanding of the industry and sales process with strong sales and commercial acumen
  • 5 years Sales and Management experience in managing a team (maturity to handle remote management of staff)
  • Sound experience managing and forecasting a budget
  • Demonstrated experience managing and exceeding key performance indicators
  • High level of computer literacy
  • sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Salesforce and other key Customer Relationship Management
  • Sound level of numeracy and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Strong coaching and development skills
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
