Leading the ambitious agenda across private label for a leading private label and partly branded food business. Strategically drive the channel growth and develop the forward business plan in line with overall UK strategy. Reporting to the Group Commercial Director, driving business performance within accounts whilst acting as the 'key lead' for board visible strategic initiatives. Managing & building the total retail business unit. Driving a 'change agenda' both internally and externally.
Job Responsibility:
Strategic mapping & new business development (30%)
Customer focused (50%)
Getting close to NPD, marketing & the manufacturing teams (20%)
Full accountability for all senior contacts within the multiple accounts
Working with key trade marketing stakeholders
Supporting launch of NPD
Driving key events around commercial plans
Develop and help lead the vision for the total private label business
Secure key stakeholder buy-in, including the board
Lead and develop a commercial strategic to deliver first class service within major retailer channel
Provide a vision for others to form key customers and suppliers
Secure existing business and win new business
Define the growth categories and consumer need states
Energise the origination and delivery of innovation which maximise growth opportunities
Form and deliver the strategy
Build out the team as the channel grows
Requirements:
Strong senior commercial/sales experience in a commodity food product business at Controller or SNAM level
Experience in commodity food products is a must
Experience on the retail side with buying across commodity products is also acceptable
Real 'can do' mentality
Creative flair for solution-focused thinking inside a matrix framework
Huge amount of drive and passion for delivering real quality to the end consumer
