Job Description:

Bold, better-for-you snacks that punch above their weight on flavour, creativity, and purpose. As a certified B Corp, we’re serious about sustainability and shaking up the snacking category for good. We’re now looking for an experience food service, commercially sharp National Account Controller to lead our growth in the out-of-home channel — bringing Proper to more consumers across workplaces, universities, travel, and leisure.

Job Responsibility:

  • Define and deliver the foodservice growth strategy in line with Proper’s brand and commercial goals
  • Lead customer planning across key national wholesalers (e.g. Brakes, Bidfood, Compass, Sodexo, Aramark, etc.) and strategic operator groups
  • Develop and implement joint business plans to drive distribution, visibility, and rate of sale
  • Identify and unlock new opportunities across workplaces, travel, education, and leisure sectors
  • Deliver annual revenue, profit, and distribution targets for the foodservice channel
  • Lead pricing and promotional strategy to optimise profitability and brand positioning
  • Manage P&L and trade investment budgets effectively, ensuring strong ROI
  • Forecast accurately, collaborating closely with supply and finance to ensure smooth delivery
  • Build deep, trusted partnerships with key customer stakeholders
  • Use insight and category data to influence menu listings, ranging, and innovation opportunities
  • Champion Proper’s sustainability and B Corp credentials within customer conversations
  • Lead and develop a team of National Account Managers and Executives
  • Work closely with Marketing, Category, and Brand teams to deliver compelling activation and NPD launches
  • Represent the foodservice channel internally, championing its value and potential

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in foodservice senior account management or controller-level leadership (ideally from snacks / beverages)
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills with full P&L accountability
  • Experience managing national wholesalers and/or contract caterers
  • Entrepreneurial mindset – comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Passion for challenger brands, sustainability, and shaking up the status quo
  • Energetic, collaborative, and hands-on leader who loves building relationships and making things happen
