We are seeking a dedicated and passionate DP Teacher of Physics to join the International School of Milan starting January 2026. You will play a key role in delivering exemplary Physics and Science education within the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). This position offers an opportunity to influence the academic and personal growth of students in a vibrant, multicultural setting. Teaching A Level Physics may also become an option beginning September 2026.
Job Responsibility:
Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-led Physics lessons aligned with the IB MYP and DP
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners
Use a range of formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and inform planning
Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment aligned with the IB Learner Profile
Contribute to the ongoing development and review of Physics curriculum content
Prepare students for MYP eAssessments and IB Diploma examinations
Integrate technology effectively to enhance learning
Serve as a form tutor/advisor, supporting student wellbeing and academic progress
Participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, trips and wider school events
Promote international-mindedness and uphold IB values
Engage in ongoing professional learning and development
Contribute to departmental and whole-school meetings and initiatives
Communicate effectively with colleagues, students and parents to support learning
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Physics or a closely related scientific discipline
A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or an international equivalent
Proven experience teaching science at secondary or equivalent levels, preferably within international or multicultural educational settings
A solid understanding of, or readiness to train in, the MYP and IB Diploma Programme educational frameworks and teaching methodologies
Exceptional classroom management abilities combined with clear and empathetic communication skills
Authorization to work in Italy, evidenced by an EU passport or a valid work and residence permit
Nice to have:
Previous IB teaching experience
Enthusiasm for involvement in whole-school and co-curricular activities
