Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver engaging, practical lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to lead A-Level Music or BTEC Level 3 Sound Engineering cohorts
Cultivate a classroom environment where students feel confident performing individually and as part of an ensemble, regardless of their starting point
Lead students through exam specifications (Eduqas/AQA/OCR), focusing on high-level analysis of set works, advanced harmony, and sophisticated composition
Take a leading role in the school's musical life by directing choirs, orchestras, or contemporary bands, and coordinating high-profile seasonal concerts
Utilise modern software (Logic Pro, Sibelius, or MuseScore) to ensure students are equipped with 21st-century composition and production skills
Take on a form tutor role, providing holistic support and academic mentoring to a dedicated group of students
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A degree in Music, Music Performance, or a related discipline
Subject Versatility: Exceptional command of musical theory and the ability to demonstrate across multiple instruments (Keyboard/Piano proficiency is highly desirable)
Creative Presence: The ability to foster a 'fail-safe' environment where students feel empowered to experiment with sound and creative expression
Collaborative Spirit: A desire to work closely with the Performing Arts team to organise whole-school productions and cross-curricular projects
Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad)
