Job Responsibility:
Dynamic Lesson Delivery: Plan and deliver high-energy lessons that balance the three pillars of Music: Performing, Composing, and Appraising
GCSE & BTEC Excellence: Lead Year 10 and 11 students through their exam specifications, providing expert guidance on performance techniques, set-work analysis, and composition portfolios
Music Technology Integration: Utilise modern software (such as Sibelius, Logic Pro, or GarageBand) to make composition accessible and professional for all learners
Extracurricular Leadership: Coordinate and lead school choirs, bands, or orchestras, and organize seasonal concerts and showcase events to celebrate student talent
Inclusive Harmony: Differentiate lessons to support students of all musical backgrounds-from those picking up an instrument for the first time to advanced Grade 8 musicians
Instrumental Management: Work alongside peripatetic teachers to ensure a cohesive musical education for students receiving 1:1 tuition
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A degree in Music, Music Performance, or a related field
Multi-Instrumental Proficiency: A strong personal standard in at least one instrument (or voice) and a working knowledge of keyboard/guitar for classroom demonstration
Enthusiastic Presence: The ability to create a 'fail-safe' environment where students feel confident to perform and experiment with sound
Curriculum Knowledge: A deep understanding of diverse musical genres, from classical and jazz to pop and world music
Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one urgently through Randstad)
