Client is seeking a highly experienced Music Licensing Consultant to manage and execute all music licensing activities for our global land-based and interactive gaming portfolio. This role is critical to the business and requires a seasoned licensing professional who can independently own, administer, and optimize client's music licensing operations across leased and for sale games, multiple distribution channels, and diverse rights structures. This role will serve as the primary expert and internal authority on music licensing. The ideal candidate brings demonstrable, hands-on experience licensing commercially released music for interactive or entertainment products, with specific expertise in master and synchronization rights, advances, per unit royalties, channel based renewals, and long term license administration. Deep practical experience, sound judgment, and the ability to operate autonomously are essential.
Job Responsibility:
Independently manage end to end music licensing for internal products, including: Negotiation and administration of master use and synchronization licenses
Structuring advances, per unit royalties, and channel specific royalty models
Supporting both lease based games and for sale games
Assess licensing needs early in the game development lifecycle and guide creative and product teams on feasibility, cost, and rights availability
Advise on licensing strategies across multiple platforms and channels, including: Class III (C3) and Class II (C2) gaming, VLTs, Social and Play Digital products, Tournament and promotional deployments
Negotiate directly with: Record labels, Music publishers, Rights administrators, Estates and artist representatives
Secure rights that align with business models, including: Territory, Term, Channel and platform usage, Unit based royalty structures
Ensure all licenses properly cover long tail distribution, repeat manufacturing, and re deployments common to gaming products
Own and maintain detailed music licensing records, including: Advances (combined master/sync), Royalty rates and payment triggers, Channel specific renewal requirements, Expiration and re licensing timelines
Track usage and renewals by channel (C3, C2, VLT, Social, Digital) and proactively manage re clearances
Partner with Legal, Finance, and Product teams to ensure: Contractual compliance, Accurate royalty reporting and payment, Audit ready documentation
Serve as the primary music licensing advisor to: Game studios and creative teams, Product management, Marketing and sales, Legal and finance stakeholders
Translate complex licensing terms into clear guidance for internal teams
Identify risks, cost implications, and scalability concerns related to music rights
Assess current music licensing workflows and recommend improvements to reduce risk and increase efficiency
Develop documentation, templates, and best practices to support continuity and potential handoff

Requirements:
7–10+ years of direct, hands on music licensing experience, ideally within: Gaming
Interactive entertainment
Film/TV
Digital media or consumer products with complex distribution models
Demonstrated experience negotiating and administering: Master and synchronization licenses
Advances and per unit royalty rates
Multi channel and multi platform usage rights
Proven ability to independently manage a large slate of licensed songs, similar in complexity to commercially released catalog music
Strong understanding of music copyright, publishing, and label practices
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage long term rights across products with extended lifecycles
Confident communicator who can operate as a standalone subject matter expert and advise senior stakeholders
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US
