Job Description

Our client, a top media and entertainment company, is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Music Copyright Administrator to support the administration of their controlled music publishing catalogs. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate rights management, proper metadata maintenance, and compliance with copyright and royalty standards across all platforms. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and hands-on experience in music publishing administration.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform daily song catalog administration and metadata maintenance within the client’s publishing royalty systems
  • Research, review, and analyze agreements and related documentation to ensure accurate and timely setup
  • Collaborate closely with Business Affairs, Accounting, Finance, and A&R teams to verify rights agreements and supporting materials
  • Research and respond to copyright and publishing inquiries from internal and external partners
  • Support the Copyright Administration and Accounting teams with quarterly suspense clearing and catalog updates
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, data audits, and other administrative responsibilities as needed
  • Maintain a proactive and solution-oriented approach while managing detailed and high-volume tasks

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in music publishing administration
  • Working knowledge of copyright protocol, performing/mechanical rights, and basic royalty accounting procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
  • Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written
  • Collaborative, proactive, and resourceful with a positive attitude
  • Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with film and television music cue sheets
  • Familiarity with copyright systems or royalty administration tools used in music publishing
