Job Responsibility:
Strip and rebuild vehicles in accordance with repair estimates and company procedures
Ensure quality checks are completed and advise the manager of any additional work identified
Ensure all jobs are completed within estimated times, and all parts are ordered and returned as required
Adhere to housekeeping, health, and safety regulations
Dismantle and repair damaged panels or replace panels that are beyond repair, including chassis and structural components
Operate all equipment, including jigs, fixtures, and welding tools, safely and according to prescribed methods
Follow manufacturer literature, technical bulletins, and attend training
Handle all vehicles with care, maintain tools and equipment in a clean and safe condition
Understand spray-painting technology, paint composition, mixing, and application methods
Prepare vehicles for painting (masking, sanding, priming) and achieve the required finish/colour match
Use prescribed safety apparatus and attend company-arranged medicals
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
Work collaboratively with colleagues and team leaders
Requirements:
Proven experience in vehicle repair across one or more disciplines: MET, Panel, or Paint
Knowledge of repair methods, manufacturer specifications, and technical bulletins
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team
Awareness of health, safety, and COSHH regulations in a workshop environment
Strong communication and organisational skills
Professional, reliable, and proactive approach to work
A minimum of 3 years’ experience is essential
Nice to have:
IMI Accreditation
Experience working across multiple disciplines (MET, Panel, Paint)
Experience supervising or mentoring non-qualified technicians or apprentices
Familiarity with modern repair technologies, including aluminium and high-strength steel
