We are looking for a skilled and motivated Multi-Skilled Engineer (Fabric) to join an established estates and facilities team supporting a busy acute hospital environment in Ashton-under-Lyne. This role is ideal for a fabric or joinery-biased technician with fire door experience, who takes pride in compliance, quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
Job Responsibility:
Planned and reactive maintenance of building fabric and joinery elements
Diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and identifying additional works through the PPM programme
Planning, prioritising and resourcing works to meet service level requirements
Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety, environmental and statutory regulations
Supporting fire strategy compliance, ensuring doors, walls, partitions and penetrations remain compliant
Assisting with site inspections, decoration works and fabric condition close-outs
Supporting lifecycle, refurbishment and minor works projects, including pricing support
Sourcing materials and managing stock levels to support service delivery
Supporting and collaborating with other multi-skilled technicians to complete PPM and reactive works
Completing all required documentation and maintenance records accurately
Developing positive working relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors
Reporting issues promptly to the Team Leader or Technical Services Manager
Requirements:
Completed apprenticeship in Joinery or strong equivalent practical experience
Ability to read drawings, method statements and technical diagrams
Full UK driving licence
Nice to have:
Experience working in a healthcare or PFI environment
Experience delivering PPM and reactive maintenance
Working with fire strategies and fire-critical building elements
