We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Multimedia & Graphic Design Specialist to support strategic communications and public affairs initiatives within a federal environment. This role is ideal for a visual storyteller who can translate complex or sensitive topics into compelling, audience-focused multimedia content. The position partners closely with public affairs teams and senior stakeholders to produce high-quality visual assets that inform, engage, and educate broad audiences across digital and social media platforms.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver end-to-end photography, video production, and graphic design support for internal and external communications
Develop visually compelling multimedia content, including: Photojournalistic imagery, Short- and long-form video, Infographics, static visuals, and motion graphics
Capture broadcast-quality photo and video content at events, interviews, and on-location shoots using professional equipment (camera, audio, lighting)
Plan and execute multimedia projects from concept through delivery, including research, storyboarding, scripting, filming, and editing
Produce social media–optimized content (e.g., short-form videos, sizzle reels, platform-specific assets for Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, etc.)
Apply appropriate storytelling techniques aligned to audience, platform, and communication goals
Support full video production lifecycle, including motion graphics, editing, and delivery of final production assets
Produce content incorporating animation, audio, or podcast elements as needed
Ensure all deliverables meet accessibility standards (e.g., captioning, audio descriptions)
Manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines
Maintain proper documentation, including consent forms, releases, and licensing records
Ensure proper usage rights, attribution, and compliance for third-party assets
Support livestream production for events as needed
Organize and maintain digital asset libraries for easy retrieval and long-term use
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including content strategists, writers, and stakeholders
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Design, Visual Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, or related field
3–5 years of professional experience in multimedia production, visual communications, graphic design, or photography
Demonstrated experience creating high-quality digital and social media content
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud tools, including: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Media Encoder
Experience capturing and producing professional-grade photography, video, and audio content
Strong visual storytelling, composition, and design skills with attention to detail and brand consistency
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven collaboration across teams
Willingness and ability to travel on short notice
Ability to obtain a government-issued Public Trust clearance
Nice to have:
Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508 compliance)
Experience managing digital asset libraries and cataloging systems
Experience with livestreaming platforms, podcast production, or advanced motion graphics
Background in photojournalism, news media, or military communications
