You will join a growing Independent Connections Provider in the North West. This company has an ever-increasing number of multi utility projects to design for industrial and commercial developments across the whole of the North West, North Midlands, and Yorkshire; meaning that there are many projects within your role. The Design Engineer will also have a responsibility for Health and Safety matters within all elements of the design process. The successful candidate will need to have knowledge of the design, planning and recording process within at least two sectors of the multi utilities industry as well as the ambition to develop skills in the other sectors.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare network records and ensure calculations and designs are within the companies specification
Ensure the team are keeping within NRSWA procedures
Undertake technical and safety audits
Project Manage the team and establish as well as maintain relationships with infrastructure internal and external clients
Liaise with UIP’s on all aspects of the designs
Liaise with other departments to progress networks within the design process
Develop and use of systems/databases to manage customer requirements
Ensure that all designs are in line with the company’s requirements
Issue data and reports that are in line with the company’s requirements
Maintain and improve consistent accuracy of data and reports for the company.
Requirements:
Have a technical background within the utility sector with experience of issuing designs for tender purposes and liaising with developers/ network owner
Membership with an engineering institution at Technician grade or equivalent
3 or more years of design experience
Be familiar with current legislation, technical standards and legislation and codes of practice within the multi utilities industry
Be capable of preparing company procedures that reflect the industry practices and legislation.
